Chop is a main story mission in Grand Theft Auto V given by Lamar Davis, involving protagonist Franklin Clinton and Chop.
It’s the 6° GTA V mission in chronological order, and it takes place in Los Santos.
Lamar has a plan to make some extra cash.
Chop – Mission Details:
Franklin is about to return home when his aunt and a friend leave the house to go for a jog. Lamar shows up with his dog Chop and tells Franklin that he needs his help to pick something up. The trio walks to Lamar’s van. On the walk, Franklin learns that Lamar’s plan is to kidnap D, a member of the Ballas. Franklin gets in the driver’s seats and Lamar tells him to drive to Vinewood Boulevard.
As they’re en route, Franklin askes Lamar about his ex-girlfriend Tanisha and also tells Lamar about his encounter with Michael, explaining that he’s a good hook up for future work.
Once they arrive at their destination, Franklin and Lamar get out of the van, leaving Chop behind and head down an alley. The pair see D speaking to a lady. They both put on bandanas to hide their faces and approach D. The three get into a hostile conversation, with Lamar pulling his gun out and threatening D.
D, spooked by the encounter, escapes on a motorbike. Franklin and Lamar get back in the van and chase D round Los Santos, eventually arriving at Simmet Alley where D is hit off his motorbike by a bus. D continues to escape on foot through a bus station. Franklin and Chop get out of the van and pursue him on foot.
The pair keep chasing D and arrive at the rail yard. The chase continues, with the pair having to weave through moving and stationary trains. After a little while, they lose track of D. Franklin asks Chop to sniff him out. Play can now switch between Chop and Franklin with Chop sniffing out areas and Franklin investigating them.
After searching a few boxcars, Chop picks up a scent and starts running off. Franklin follows him to find he’s not found D but picked up the scent of a male dog and starts humping him. Franklin beacons him away and they start to pick up the trail for D again.
The pair arrive at another set of boxcars and find D hiding in one. D starts to run away but Chop chases after him, finally catching up to him this time. Franklin catches up to them and apprehends D. Lamar arrives with the van and Franklin puts D in the back with Chop.
Franklin takes control of the van again and drives to Lamar’s house. En route, Lamar calls an unknown person to say they’ve got D. Franklin gets annoyed with Lamar as he’s contacted the person on phone and it will no give away their location to the Ballas and LSPD.
Franklin tosses the phone out of the window and makes Lamar let D go. Franklin drives Lamar to the BJ Smith Recreational Center to drop him off. Franklin warns him LSPD and the Ballas are going to be watching him now but Lamar is unfazed by it all.
A little while after the mission is completed, Lamar will call Franklin asking if Chop can stay with him for a while. Franklin’s happy to do it stating “it’s the best place for him anyway”.

- Follow Lamar.
- Get in the van.
- Wait for Lamar.
- Go to Vinewood Boulevard.
- Get back in the van.
- Open the boxcars to see if D is hiding inside.
- Go to Chop and pull him off the dog.
- Take D to Lamar’s house.
- Stop the van to let D out.
- Drop Lamar off at the rec center.
